These Professional Athletes Founded The First National Sports And Entertainment Luxury Real Estate Firm

Founded by pros for pros, Aston Rose marks a historic first in the real estate industry in partnership with real estate brokerage platform Side

Aston Rose, the first ultra-luxury national real estate firm, specializes in finding homes for celebrities, athletes, and high-net-worth individuals. On March 17, 2022, the firm made its debut in the California and Florida real estate markets.

Tomi Rose, co-founder and senior director of Aston Rose, is a sports and entertainment real estate trailblazer who has been consistently recognized as the niche industry’s leading figure and strategic innovator for the past 20 years.

The former professional cheerleader pioneered the idea of forming sports and entertainment divisions within real estate brokerage firms in 2013, a vision that has since been adopted by powerhouse firms such as ONE Sotheby’s International Realty, Douglas Elliman, and Compass.

Former professional athletes Rob Hite, Rod Watson, and Lisa Leslie are among the Aston Rose co-founders, in addition to Rose. The combined real estate transactions of the Aston Rose team exceed $500 million. Hite, who was instrumental in bringing the Aston Rose founders together, approached Watson and proposed a partnership.

Aston Rose sets itself apart from its competitors in the market by being the first company to be founded by former professional athletes, with the slogan “By Pros for Pros.” The firm, which is the first of its kind, is focusing on high-end professionals in those fields to help individuals who grew up in underrepresented communities bridge the gap.

“We understand that many African American and minority athletes are making money for the first time. Unfortunately, so many of those athletes fall into the trap of it being about things that don’t appreciate in value for them; our firm is changing that,” Leslie suggests.

Each of the founders brings something unique to the table, making Aston Rose stand out from the crowd. The group of industry heavyweights intends to leave an indelible mark. As a company operating in one of the world’s most diverse industries, the Black-owned and operated firm believes that market representation is critical.

Rose, best known for her role on NBC’s Hot Listings Miami, gained international attention for listing and selling her iconic client LeBron James’ former South Florida home, Caron Butler’s home, and Meyers Leonard’s home.

“We have a diverse group of people on our executive team. The mission of Aston Rose is to be the most inclusive and diverse luxury real estate company in the world. Aston Rose welcomes clients, agents, and executives of all ages, cultures, and sexual orientations,” says Rose.

Leslie, a four-time Olympic gold medalist and two-time WNBA champion, has had a successful five-year career as a luxury REALTOR®. Leslie’s work with high-profile clients like Kyrie Irving, Chris Webber, and Anita Baker earned her a “top 10 in closed volume” award from her former firm, Keller Williams Realty of Boca Raton, FL.

“We’ve all worked for brokers where we were the only minority and didn’t always get the same level of support as others; Aston Rose is ensuring we have our own while also sharing it with others,” expresses Leslie.

Hite, a former NBA player who went on to become a broker, has facilitated some of the most notable sales in South Florida real estate, including the sale of David and Victoria Beckham’s penthouse at the One Thousand Museum in Miami. He was recently named ONE Sotheby’s International Realty’s top 20 producer.

“It’s critical for us that the athletes and entertainers we work with have a solid understanding of how to make real estate work for them and how to invest wisely,” Hite adds.

Watson, a former international professional basketball player, has worked in the real estate industry for over 15 years. Current and former NBA stars like Zach Randolph, De’Aaron Fox, Markelle Fultz, Melo Ball, and Moochie Norris have turned to him as a trusted luxury real estate advisor. He most recently worked at Keller Williams Beverly Hills as the Director of Sports and Entertainment.

“I, like many other athletes, came from a difficult upbringing. I didn’t see any Black or African American real estate agents when I was growing up.” Watson continues, “It was a no-brainer when the opportunity to work with Tomi, Rob, and Lisa emerged.”

Aston Rose has residential, commercial, and development divisions. Personalized Web3 NFTs and Metaverse interactions were also created by the company, which will revolutionize the use of token-based economics.

The firm will also join an exclusive group of Side partners, tapping into an expansive network from coast to coast to stay on the cutting edge of the ever-changing real estate market. The brokerage is eager to grow their brand and provide a seamless experience to their clients, thanks to their extensive knowledge of the local market.
