Reeves delivering in paint for Columbus Academy

3 min read

At 6-foot-7, Kevin Reeves gives the Columbus Academy boys basketball team an inside presence.

However, being a force in the paint is about more than height, and the Vikings hope their senior post player’s skill set will help them emerge as a threat in the Division III district tournament.

“We’re just getting better,” said Reeves, whose team was 7-3 overall and 2-3 in the MSL-Ohio Division before playing Whitehall on Jan. 15. “Every week after a good practice, we just keep getting better, so we can go pretty far.”

The Vikings opened 2022 with a 47-43 win over Centerburg on Jan. 7 at home, as Reeves scored a game-high 15 points while contributing 12 rebounds and five blocked shots.

Academy lost to Worthington Christian 51-48 on Jan. 11 in league play.
